We'd like to congratulate Artisans At Rocky Hill for being the winner of this month's free hosting site. At the beginning of each month we will call up our own site's homepage. Whomever's site is the featured site when the page loads will get FREE hosting of one domain for one month. It's just our way of saying thank you.
The tracker (hit counter) we supply on most of our client's sites (the blue world icon in the lower left corner of your homepage) just added an eighth report; On the Map. With worldwide, street level zoom, and the ability to filter results, you may now zoom in to the map location of the last 20 visitors to your site. Useful if you want to see the area/towns that have the most interest in your site, conduct a print marketing campaign, or just something to do on a rainy afternoon (ya...right!)
As you may have heard, Yahoo! and Microsoft have struck
a deal. This will have a major impact on the search engine landscape and
there definitely will be effects on your Web site rankings and the number of
visitors to your site. Yahoo! is going to give up their own search
technology and use Microsoft's search technology instead. Bing.com will
power the organic and the paid search results on Yahoo (except for premium
ads on Yahoo).
Your site's link popularity (the most heavily weighted element of Google's ranking algorithm) will probably decrease because Yahoo's inbound link data will probably be lost. Yahoo is the search engine currently returning the most inbound link data. When Yahoo drops its index, that data will probably be lost resulting in a decrease in your site's link popularity.
So now, if you were ever going to work on link popularity, is the time to double your efforts at trying to get your site listed on as many directories as possible.
Help these folks by visiting their site. All ya'll will remember how hard it is to get those initial "hits" so the search engines notice your site. So take a minute and visit their site.
