Random Free Hosting Site

We'd like to congratulate Brackenridge House Bed and Breakfast for being the winner of this month's free site hosting. At the beginning of each month we will call up our own site's homepage. Whomever's site is the featured site when the page loads will get FREE hosting of one domain for one month. It's just our way of saying thank you.

My Bad

I've recently had a couple of clients send me e-mails asking questions that were answered recently in our periodic newsletter. In checking with them they insisted they knew nothing about our newsletter. I checked the distribution list - sure enough they weren't on the list any longer.

Turns out that my computer "ate" about thirty e-mail addresses and not all out clients were receiving the newsletter. I apologize to anyone reading our newsletter for the first time (or after a long hiatus). We were not trying to exclude all ya'll from our tid-bits of knowledge. So if you haven't see out newsletter in a while, it would behoove you to scan the newsletter index and brush up on any of the topics you find interesting.

Google's Over-optimization Filter

Google announced they are trying to make GoogleBot smarter, make their relevance better, and that they are looking for those who over-optimize their site by using too many keywords on a page, exchanging way too many non-industry related links, or going well beyond what one would normally expect in link exchange.

We've always used "white hat" optimization for our client's sites in the belief that a quality site would gain a higher ranking on Google than one trying to trick Google into giving the site an artifically higher ranki. But times are changing and what Google allowed five years ago may not be acceptable these days.

If you haven't updated your site in over five years, or your site was created by another webmaster and we've inherited your site, you will most likely benefit from having us review your site for compliance with the elements Google is currently looking for.

Recycling Printer Ink Cartridges

As many of you know, Susan and I train guide dogs for the visually impaired. The school we volunteer with is Guide Dogs of Texas. They are collecting printer ink cartridges for recycling and fund raising. Click HERE to read more about their project. Before you throw out that empty ink cartridge, please give me a call and I'll come pick it up for recycling by Guide Dogs of Texas. If you are one of our many clients not fortunate enough to live in 'God's Country' you may mail the cartridges to me and I'll discount the shipping charges from your bill.

We thank you in advance to taking the time to help with the worthwhile project.
